Enabling Entrepreneurs and Careers with Licensed Childcare Expansion

Modesto is a partner with a Stanislaus2030 and Nurture Childcare expansion initiative to create new licensed childcare slots and support the startup of new licensed childcare busineses. Each new licesned childcare slot creates $34,000 direct plus indirect economic impact ((Bipartisan Policy Center). The first cohort of 75 program graduates is at right.

Technical and Career Training for Underserved Youth

Modesto supports the Digital Nest program that provides pathways for underserved teens and young adults, especially Hispanic.

Building Behavioral Health professional capacity

Modesto is investing in a HealthForce Partners program to provide behavioral health scholarships, addressing a critical capacity gap.

Economic Development Partners

The Modesto Chamber of Commerce brings together, supports and represents the Modesto business and professional community. The Chamber hosts monthly forums including Government Relations and Economic Development and sponsors Green business and Networking opportunities.


The Valley Sierra Small Business Development Center offers complimentary business consulting, skills-building and financial program referrals online and in-person in Stanislaus County and in the Sierra Nevada Mother Lode region.


Opportunity Stanislaus is a membership organization serving as Stanislaus County’s Economic Development Agency. Members have access to Opportunity Stanislaus programs including Volt Institute training, business research and more.
